A landmark Brunello Riserva that holds the weight of tradition and the promise of decades-long ageing.

From the historic estate of Biondi-Santi – the originator of Brunello di Montalcino – this 2013 Riserva springs from a cooler vintage, offering elegance, clarity and fine structure. The wine is crafted from 100% Sangiovese Grosso (aka Brunello) and matured in large Slovenian oak barrels to preserve its purity and longevity.

Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Bright red cherry and wild berry fruit mingle with violet, underbrush, graphite and subtle tobacco leaf. Earthy hints of forest floor and aromatic herbs underline the nose.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Vibrant and finely-textured, the palate opens with tart cherry and pomegranate, flows into refined powdery tannins and a refreshing line of acidity. Mineral tension and spice underscore the mid-palate.
Tertiary
Finish: Very long, elegantly reserved. The finish fades slowly with echoes of leather, iron-tinged minerality, and a faint whisper of dark herbs and licorice.
Gastronomy

Serve at about 18 C in a large red wine glass after decanting for at least 60 minutes (preferably more). Given its structure and pedigree, this wine pairs superbly with refined yet rich dishes: aged beef rib with rosemary and black cherry glaze, venison loin with juniper berries, wild boar ragù pappardelle, or a mature Pecorino Toscano with honey and walnuts. The wine’s acidity and mineral backbone offset the richness of game or aged cheeses, while its herb- and forest-floor nuances echo the dishes’ depth.
