Tasting Characteristics

Kurni Rosso Marche IGT 2022 from Oasi degli Angeli is one of Italy’s most iconic modern wines. Produced in very limited quantities from extremely low yields, it represents a philosophy of maximum extraction and ripeness. The wine is built around sheer depth, density, and power, shaped by late harvesting and careful oak aging. This is not a wine chasing elegance — it is a statement of intensity, designed for collectors and experienced drinkers who appreciate uncompromising structure and long-term aging potential.

Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Explosive aromas of black cherry, blackberry, and dried plum, layered with cocoa, liquorice, balsamic herbs, and sweet spices. Subtle vanilla and smoky oak nuances appear with air.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Massive and densely packed on the palate, delivering concentrated dark fruit, dark chocolate, spice, and balsamic notes. The texture is thick and powerful, supported by high but ripe tannins. Alcohol is elevated yet absorbed into the wine’s extract, giving warmth rather than sharpness.
Tertiary
Finish: Extremely long and persistent, with lingering dark fruit, cocoa, spice, and a savory undertone that remains well after the sip.
Gastronomy

Serve at 16–18°C and strongly consider extended decanting. This wine demands equally powerful food: slow-braised beef, prime rib, game meats, or roasted lamb. Very mature hard cheeses also work well, as their intensity and fat balance the wine’s structure and alcohol.
