Tasting Characteristics

A powerful, terroir-driven Pinot Noir Champagne showcasing Verzenay`s precision, depth, and signature chalky tension.

Bollinger PN VZ19 is the fourth release in the house’s single-cru-Pinot-Noir focus series, built around the grand cru terroir of Verzenay. The base vintage is 2019, supported by reserve wines – including Bollinger`s prized magnum-aged holdings, which add depth, complexity and Bollinger`s trademark vinosity. A portion of the wine is fermented in small oak barrels, enhancing textural richness while preserving purity. The result is a Champagne with structure, definition and unmistakable Pinot Noir character.

Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Red and black fruits - wild strawberry, raspberry, cherry, with notes of baked apple, toasted hazelnut, brioche, dried flowers, chalk dust, and subtle spice. Distinct mineral tension from Verzenay’s chalk slopes.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Textured and energetic. The palate combines juicy red fruit, citrus brightness, nougat, roasted almond, and a fine, linear minerality. The mousse is elegant and persistent, carrying the wine’s structure and gentle oxidative nuance.
Tertiary
Finish: Long and focused, with chalky length, red-berry precision, and a refined savory twist.
Gastronomy

Serve at 10-12 C in a tulip or white-wine glass to unlock its layered Pinot Noir profile. PN VZ19 is gastronomic in style, pairing beautifully with roasted poultry, duck breast, veal, mushroom dishes, charcuterie, truffle omelette, and Comté or Beaufort cheese. Its mineral structure and red-fruit intensity also complement tuna tartare, salmon sashimi, and lightly spiced Asian cuisine.
