Tasting Characteristics

From the now-closed Speyside distillery, this 27-year-old Caperdonich delivers a refined and layered whisky experience matured in first-fill American oak barrels.

Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Ripe pear, vanilla pod, honeyed apple slices and subtle toasted almond emerge with a soft trace of warm oak.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Smooth and rich — baked apple tart, ripe peach, creamy toffee, delicate oak spice and a whisper of nutmeg.
Tertiary
Finish: Long and gently warming, with residual vanilla, soft orchard fruit, and lingering oak tannins.
Gastronomy

Match this elegant Speyside malt with dishes that echo its orchard and vanilla character: think almond-crusted duck breast with pear chutney, warm apple tart tatin with a scoop of vanilla cream, or a mature Comté cheese with honey and walnuts. The rich malt-fruited profile and oak depth stand beautifully alongside both savoury and dessert courses. Serve neat in a tulip glass at room temperature to allow the full nuance to emerge.
