Tasting CharacteristicsA hidden Speyside gem from the closed Imperial distillery, A’Glac Charrann 27 Years Old is a deeply refined expression matured in American oak barrels. It offers a rare confluence of vintage elegance and stellar barrel influence.
Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Incredibly sweet, with ripe pear, honey, vanilla custard and cherry jam.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: The sweetness intensifies—red apple, blackcurrants and orange chocolate combine with hazelnut and a hint of lemon drizzle.
Tertiary
Finish: Sweet and gently spiced, leaving a warm, lingering impression of oak and soft orchard fruit.
GastronomyThis whisky shines alongside dishes that allow its refinement and sweetness to bloom. Consider a rich almond tart with warm pear compote, roasted duck breast glazed with cherry reduction, or a quality blue cheese with toasted hazelnuts and honey. Its orchard fruit and vanilla character elevate both dessert and savory courses. Serve neat in a tulip glass at room temperature; allow a few minutes to breathe before tasting.
