Tasting Characteristics

Domaine Adrien Berlioz Lucien 2024 captures the wild, elegant side of Savoie’s native Mondeuse grape. Grown on the steep slopes of Chignin, it combines the grape’s natural peppery intensity with striking purity and freshness. Notes of black cherry, violet, and crushed stone flow through a taut, refined frame. It’s a red wine of alpine character — vivid, authentic, and profoundly expressive of its mountain origin.

Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Elegant and aromatic — black cherry, violet, and black pepper with subtle notes of forest floor, graphite, and Alpine herbs.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Vibrant and structured — red and black fruit mingle with savory spice and earthy minerality. The tannins are present but silky, supported by lively acidity and mountain freshness.
Tertiary
Finish: Long and linear, leaving hints of dark fruit, spice, and a cool stony edge.
Gastronomy

A perfect companion to charcuterie, roasted duck, mushroom dishes, or aged cheeses. It shines with herb-crusted lamb, venison stew, or wild boar ragù. For vegetarian pairings, try lentil cassoulet or roasted beetroot with thyme. Serve at 15–17 °C in a Burgundy glass to reveal its aromatic complexity and mineral tension. A wine for cool evenings and thoughtful conversations.
