Tasting Characteristics

Jean-Paul et Charly Thévenet Grain et Granit 2023 captures the spirit of Beaujolais in its most transparent form — vibrant, fragrant, and beautifully textured. From old Gamay vines grown on pure granite soils in Régnié, this cuvée balances juicy fruit with refined minerality. Silky, energetic, and full of charm, it’s both approachable and precise — a luminous expression of family tradition and granitic finesse.

Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Delicate yet expressive — ripe raspberry, cherry, and wild strawberry accented by violet, crushed stone, and a touch of peppery spice.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Supple and pure — bursting with juicy red fruit, lifted floral tones, and a distinct granitic minerality that lends freshness and tension.
Tertiary
Finish: Long and elegant, with notes of cherry skin, herbs, and a faint saline touch that reflects its stony terroir.
Gastronomy

Perfect with charcuterie, roast chicken, duck confit, or grilled vegetables. Its freshness pairs wonderfully with mushroom dishes, goat cheese, and herbed pasta. Serve lightly chilled (14–16 °C) in a Burgundy glass to highlight its purity and minerality. A joyful yet thoughtful wine — ideal for relaxed dinners and spontaneous gatherings alike.
