Louis Roederer Cristal Rose 2014 Box
A rosé of rare poise and energy – Louis Roederer`s 2014 Cristal Rosé delivers concentrated red-fruit power and chalk-driven elegance in equal measure.
Cristal Rosé 2014 emerges from a supremely thoughtful “composition” by the house, built on 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay from top Grand Cru and Premier Cru parcels. Around 20–32% of the blend is fermented in oak barrels, then the wine spends over seven years on lees before disgorgement – a process that elevates complexity, texture, and aging potential. Je an-Baptiste Lécaillon defines it as “a wine of soil, not of climate,” where chalky terroir, mature fruit, and meticulous vineyard selection converge in a champagne of intensity, finesse and longevity.
Serve well chilled at 9-11 C in a tall flute or tulip glass to highlight the delicate pink hue, fine bubbles, and aromatic precision. Cristal Rosé 2014 is ideal as the centrepiece of gourmet dining – superb with lobster thermidor, blue-fin tuna tartare, seared scallops, or langoustines. Its combination of richness, red-fruit intensity, acidity and minerality also pairs beautifully with roasted duck breast, lightly spiced Asian fusion, or savoury foie gras. For a cheese pairing, choose aged Comté or creamy triple-crème Brie. As a dessert option, go for berry-based tarts, raspberry sorbet, or fruit-glazed pastries – the wine`s red-fruit purity and lactic softness will harmonize beautifully.
