The Macallan Art Is The Flower is a limited release inspired by the philosophy and aesthetics of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, where structure, nature, and balance coexist. Matured in carefully selected sherry-seasoned oak casks, the whisky reflects The Macallan’s long-standing focus on wood management and architectural depth. Bottled at a higher natural strength, it is designed as a contemplative expression rather than a conventional sipping malt. Every element, from cask selection to presentation, is intentional, aligning whisky-making with artistic discipline rather than excess.

Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Polished oak, dried figs, raisined sultanas, orange oil, and dark honey, layered with floral accents and subtle spice.
Secondary
Palate / Taste: Rich and expansive. Dark chocolate, baked apples, clove, cinnamon, and treacle unfold over a dense, velvety texture. The sherry influence is controlled, supporting structure rather than sweetness.
Tertiary
Finish: Exceptionally long, warming, and refined, with lingering cocoa, oak spice, dried fruit, and a softly drying elegance.
Gastronomy

Best enjoyed neat, in a calm setting, allowing the whisky time to open fully in the glass. Its richness and spice pair naturally with structured, umami-forward foods. Roasted duck or slow-cooked beef mirror its depth, while aged hard cheeses echo its oak-driven complexity.
