Tasting Characteristics

Château de la Selve Beaulieu 2022 is the domaine’s bold, soulful red — a Rhône-inspired blend shaped by Ardèche limestone. Biodynamically farmed Syrah and Grenache form its core, delivering power and precision in perfect harmony. Layers of black fruit, herbs, and spice reveal a wine that’s both grounded and graceful. Structured but never heavy, it captures the wild beauty of southern France in a polished, age-worthy form.

Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Intense and layered — ripe black cherry, blackberry, and plum mingle with notes of black pepper, leather, garrigue herbs, and a touch of tobacco.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Rich yet balanced — dark fruit framed by supple tannins and a core of minerality. Hints of cocoa and spice unfold as the wine opens, showing both depth and lift.
Tertiary
Finish: Long and textured, with notes of licorice, black fruit, and a touch of smoked cedar.
Gastronomy

Perfect with roast lamb, grilled steak, or mushroom stew. Try it with duck breast, truffle pasta, or lentil ragù for a gourmet pairing. It also shines with aged cheeses like Comté or Ossau-Iraty. Serve at 16–18 °C — a wine for slow evenings, firelight, and thoughtful company.
