Tasting Characteristics

Praesulis Sauvignon Blanc 2023 is sourced from steep, rocky vineyards of the Isarco Valley, where cool mountain air and mineral soils shape an incisive, linear style. Markus Prackweiser vinifies with precision: stainless steel preserves aromatic purity, while partial ageing in large oak and time on fine lees give subtle texture and depth. The 2023 vintage is particularly lifted and tense, combining alpine herbs, citrus energy and a distinctive stony edge.

Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Grapefruit, lemon zest, gooseberry, passion fruit, elderflower, alpine herbs, white currant and a crisp mineral tone.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Medium-, taut and vibrant. Citrus and white currant meet notes of fresh herbs, green peach, flint and subtle tropical hints. The lees component adds gentle roundness without disturbing the wine’s razor-sharp precision. Acidity is bright and crystalline.
Tertiary
Finish: Long, mineral and refreshing, with lingering grapefruit, herbs and wet-stone salinity.
Gastronomy

Serve at 8–10°C. Superb with goat cheese, asparagus dishes, grilled prawns, ceviche, white fish, sushi, chicken with citrus-herb marinades, vegetable tempura and alpine cheeses. Its citrus-herbal drive and mineral backbone align perfectly with fresh, aromatic cuisines.
