Tasting Characteristics

Pavillon Rouge du Château Margaux 2016 is the estate’s second wine, crafted with the same meticulous attention as the Grand Vin but designed for earlier accessibility. The 2016 vintage, widely regarded as one of Bordeaux’s finest in recent decades, brings exceptional balance, purity of fruit, and structural finesse. Cabernet Sauvignon dominates the blend, supported by Merlot and Petit Verdot, delivering a wine that clearly reflects the Margaux terroir—graceful, aromatic, and poised rather than overtly powerful.

Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Elegant aromas of blackcurrant, ripe cherry, and violet, layered with graphite, cedar, and subtle spice. With air, delicate floral and mineral notes become more pronounced.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Medium-plus bodied and finely structured, offering dark berry fruit, cassis, and gentle savory tones. Tannins are polished and precise, providing shape without aggression. Fresh acidity brings clarity and length, reinforcing the wine’s refined character.
Tertiary
Finish: Long, clean, and harmonious, with lingering dark fruit, mineral tension, and a discreet oak presence that fades gracefully.
Gastronomy

Serve at 16–18°C, ideally after gentle decanting. This wine pairs beautifully with classic, refined cuisine: roasted lamb, veal, beef tenderloin, or dishes with subtle herbal or earthy elements. Aged but not overly intense cheeses complement its finesse without overpowering the wine’s balance.
