Tasting CharacteristicsYarden Merlot is sourced from high-altitude vineyards on the Golan Heights, where volcanic soils and a cool climate shape Merlot with richness, structure and purity. The long growing season allows slow, even ripening, resulting in concentrated fruit and natural balance. After 18 months in French oak, the wine shows depth and finesse — a benchmark Israeli Merlot with impressive longevity.
Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Ripe plum, black cherry, cassis, violet, cocoa, cedar, tobacco leaf, warm spice and a faint graphite-mineral edge.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Medium+ to full-bodied. Notes of plum, blackberry, cherry compote, milk chocolate, espresso, baking spices and well-integrated oak. Tannins are supple but firm enough to give architecture. Acidity keeps the richness lively.
Tertiary
Finish: Long, smooth and elegant, with lingering dark fruit, spice, cedar and cocoa.
GastronomyServe at 16–18°C. Excellent with roasted lamb, grilled steak, brisket, duck breast, mushroom ragù, truffle dishes, herb-roasted vegetables and aged cheeses. Its ripe fruit and polished oak make it versatile across rich, savory cuisines.
