Tasting CharacteristicsTantaka 2022 is crafted by Juanjo Tellaetxe, one of Álava’s rising artisans of modern Txakolina. High-elevation vineyards, Atlantic winds and limestone-slate soils shape a wine defined by clarity and tension. Stainless-steel fermentation preserves its crisp fruit and mineral profile, while brief lees ageing brings subtle texture. The 2022 vintage shows exceptional balance between citrus brightness, herbal lift and the saline edge characteristic of Arabako Txakolina.
Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Lemon zest, lime, green apple, white peach, fennel, fresh herbs, saline breeze and crushed stone.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Refreshing and linear. Citrus peel, tart orchard fruit, gentle white flowers, light herbal notes and a sharp mineral line. Crisp acidity drives the palate, giving the wine both energy and finesse.
Tertiary
Finish: Medium, clean and saline, with lingering citrus and mineral brightness.
GastronomyServe at 8–10°C. Ideal with seafood in all forms: oysters, anchovies, grilled sardines, octopus, prawns, sushi, ceviche and cod dishes. Also excellent with fresh goat cheese, Basque pintxos, tempura vegetables and lightly spiced salads. Its acidity and saline precision elevate delicate flavours.
