Tasting CharacteristicsBorn in the Adriani vineyards of Drama under the stewardship of Domaine Costa Lazaridi, Amethystos Rosé has been touted by wine writer Argyris Tsakiris as a progenitor of the modern premium rosé category. Crafted from a disciplined blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, it leans into full fruit character without losing structural integrity, offering a rosé that has credibility both at the table and alongside more serious wines.
Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Pronounced notes of redcurrant and ripe strawberry, suggesting both freshness and depth.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Medium-bodied fruit core with a crisp interplay of acidity and subtle tannic grip, delivering juicy red fruit flavors balanced by saline freshness.
Tertiary
Finish: Sustained and fruity, with lingering summer-berry vibrancy that keeps the palate engaged.
GastronomyThis is food rosé, not patio-only juice. Its fruit intensity and balanced acidity carve through richer, savory preparations — think grilled chicken with herbs, seafood stews with tomato base, or even spicier curry profiles. Greek classics like ladera and stuffed vegetables get a lift, while the wine stands up to earthy grains and lighter red meats without fading. Serve chilled (10–12 °C).
