Tasting Characteristics

L’Astemia Pentita brings a modern, architectural perspective to Piedmontese classics, and its Barbera d’Alba 2023 reflects that philosophy. Crafted for purity and vibrancy, it emphasizes clean fruit, lively acidity and silky texture. Stainless-steel fermentation preserves freshness, while a touch of neutral wood adds softness. The 2023 vintage delivers vivid red fruit, refined balance and a sleek, cosmopolitan profile suited both to traditional cuisine and modern pairing.

Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Red cherry, raspberry, plum, violet, subtle spice, a touch of licorice and light mineral notes.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Medium-bodied, smooth and juicy. Notes of cherry, cranberry, red plum, gentle spice and a clean herbal lift. Acidity is lively and refreshing — classic Barbera — while tannins remain soft and polished.
Tertiary
Finish: Medium, bright and fruit-driven, with lingering cherry and a delicate floral-spice echo.
Gastronomy

Serve at 16–18°C. Ideal with tagliatelle al ragù, roasted chicken, pizza Napoletana, grilled vegetables, pork loin, mushroom dishes, Parmigiano Reggiano and pecorino. Its lively acidity and juicy red fruit complement both rustic and modern Italian fare.
