Tasting Characteristics

Albore Rouge 2023 is crafted from Niellucciu, the emblematic Corsican grape, related to Tuscan Sangiovese but shaped by the island’s winds, limestone soils and maritime climate. Nicolas Mariotti Bindi vinifies it naturally, preserving fruit purity, aromatic lift and mineral tension. The result is a red wine that is elegant rather than heavy: supple, herbal, bright and distinctly Corsican.

Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Wild strawberry, red cherry, pomegranate, dried herbs (maquis), rose petal, crushed stone, and a salty Mediterranean breeze.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Light-medium bodied with clean, pure fruit. Red berries, cherry skin, subtle spice, garrigue herbs and a strong mineral backbone. Tannins are fine and lightly sandy, acidity vibrant and refreshing. The style is graceful, linear and quietly savoury.
Tertiary
Finish: Fresh, slightly saline, mineral and herbal, with lingering red fruit.
Gastronomy

Serve slightly chilled (14–15 C). Perfect with Mediterranean cuisine: grilled tuna or swordfish, lamb kofta, herb-roasted chicken, charcuterie, Corsican cold cuts, soft cheeses, olive-based dishes, roasted vegetables, and tomato-driven plates. Its herbal and mineral profile enhances both seafood and lighter meats.
