Tasting CharacteristicsSuchju 2023 showcases Niellucciu in its most refreshing, natural expression. Mariotti Bindi vinifies it with minimal intervention, letting the variety’s red-fruited purity and herbal Mediterranean tones shine. No oak means nothing interferes with its crunchy fruit, subtle florals and saline minerality. It’s a red that tastes like Corsica itself — windswept, wild, aromatic and effortless.
Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose : Red cherry, wild strawberry, pomegranate, fresh herbs (maquis), rose petal and crushed stone with hints of sea salt.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Light and juicy, with crunchy red berries, cherry skin, subtle spice and a distinctly mineral backbone. Tannins are very fine and sandy; acidity fresh and lively. Pure, transparent and quietly savory.
Tertiary
Finish: Fresh, herbal and lightly saline, with lingering red fruit and mineral clarity.
GastronomyServe slightly chilled (13–14°C). Designed for relaxed, joyful drinking. Perfect with Mediterranean dishes, grilled tuna, roasted vegetables, tomato-based plates, charcuterie, herb-roasted chicken, soft cheeses, goat cheese and fresh berry dishes. Its herbal-mineral profile pairs seamlessly with both seafood and light meats.
