Nordés is an Atlantic gin from Galicia in north-western Spain, launched in 2010. What sets it apart is the base: instead of neutral grain spirit, Nordés uses a distillate made from Albariño grapes, which gives the gin a softer, rounder texture. On top of that sit eleven botanicals, six of them sourced in Galicia – bay leaf, eucalyptus, sage, mint, lemon verbena and hibiscus. The white ceramic bottle, decorated with a wind rose, references the north-westerly wind that gives the gin its name.
