Tasting CharacteristicsChivas Regal 12-Year-Old Mizunara Edition bridges Scottish mastery and Japanese artistry. After aging in traditional oak, a portion of the blend rests in rare Mizunara oak casks — a wood known for its porous grain and unique aromatic depth. The result is a whisky that adds subtle layers of sandalwood, spice, and exotic fruit to the classic Chivas honeyed smoothness.
Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Honey, ripe pears, orange zest, and floral oak with hints of spice and sandalwood.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Silky and balanced – notes of vanilla, peach, honey, and light coconut blend with gentle oak and exotic spice.
Tertiary
Finish: Long and smooth with lingering sweetness, warm spice, and a whisper of incense-like oak.
GastronomyEnjoy neat or on the rocks to appreciate its delicate Japanese oak influence. Chivas 12YO Mizunara pairs wonderfully with sushi, grilled white fish, or mild curries. For dessert, it complements crème brûlée, coconut pudding, or citrus tart — its exotic spice and soft sweetness highlight refined, subtle flavors.
