Tasting CharacteristicsGautier XO 40% is a superb expression of Maison Gautier`s artistry – an XO that balances strength, depth, and remarkable elegance. Crafted from eaux-de-vie drawn from Fins Bois, Borderies, and Grande Champagne crus, it captures the perfect marriage of fruit maturity and barrel complexity. Its long aging in humid cellars gives it an extraordinary roundness and aromatic intensity – a cognac that commands attention while remaining irresistibly smooth.
Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Deep and generous, with rich notes of fig, dried apricot, and candied orange peel, layered with warm hints of vanilla, old oak, and sweet spice.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Full-bodied and velvety, revealing flavors of prune, honey, and roasted walnut, followed by undertones of chocolate, nutmeg, and cedar. The texture is opulent yet refined, perfectly balancing sweetness and oak depth.
Tertiary
Finish: Exceptionally long and elegant, with lingering notes of rancio, toasted wood, and dried fruit that unfold in perfect harmony.
GastronomyGautier XO 40% is a cognac for quiet indulgence – ideal after a fine meal or alongside a dark chocolate dessert. Best enjoyed neat in a tulip glass, it reveals evolving layers of fruit and spice with every sip. Pair it with foie gras, aged cheese, or a rich crème brûlée; the cognac`s rancio and nutty depth heighten each flavor, turning the experience into pure refinement
