Tasting CharacteristicsViña Hermosa Tinto Joven 2023 represents the fresher side of Rioja winemaking. Crafted entirely from Tempranillo, sourced from the family-run vineyards of Bodegas Santalba, it shows the grape without the influence of oak. The result is a clean, lively, and modern expression — all about juicy fruit, supple texture, and easy enjoyment. It’s Rioja designed for the moment, not the cellar.
Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Bright red cherry, strawberry, crushed raspberry, and a subtle floral lift. Beneath the fruit sits a hint of fresh herbs and a touch of spice characteristic of youthful Tempranillo.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Fresh, juicy, and medium-bodied. Red berry flavors dominate, supported by clean acidity and soft, polished tannins. The palate is smooth, open, and charming from the first sip to the last — approachable yet well-structured.
Tertiary
Finish: A crisp, fruity finish with lingering red berries and a gentle herbal note. Refreshing, uncomplicated, and satisfying.
GastronomyServe slightly chilled (15–16 C) to highlight its freshness. This Joven style pairs beautifully with casual, flavorful dishes: grilled chicken, roasted vegetables, tapas, spicy chorizo, or pizza with tomato and cured meats. Its red-fruit brightness cuts through salt and spice, making it perfect for everyday dining and relaxed gatherings. Mild and semi-firm cheeses — like young Manchego or Havarti — complement the wine’s purity and clean acidity.
