Tasting CharacteristicsLunatico Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2023 delivers the approachable richness that defines the region’s style. Warm coastal influences and ripe fruit create a plush, easy-going red with soft tannins and a dark-berry profile. Stainless-steel vinification preserves purity, while light oak hints add depth without heaviness. The 2023 vintage is marked by roundness, juicy fruit and a polished texture ideal for everyday meals and casual gatherings.
Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Black cherry, ripe plum, blackberry, violets, sweet spice, cocoa and a touch of Mediterranean herbs.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Medium+ body, smooth and juicy. Notes of dark berries, plum, cherry compote, soft pepper, sweet spice and a hint of chocolate. Tannins are supple and friendly; acidity keeps the wine balanced and lively.
Tertiary
Finish: Medium, warm and fruit-driven, with lingering plum and gentle spice.
GastronomyServe at 16–18°C. Excellent with pizza, lasagna, grilled sausages, roasted chicken, pasta al ragù, meatballs in tomato sauce, antipasti, and aged Italian cheeses. Its ripe fruit and soft tannins make it a versatile table wine for Mediterranean comfort dishes.
