Tasting CharacteristicsDisaronno Originale venerates its roots in Saronno, Lombardy. According to tradition, the recipe dates back to 1525, when a lady of the town gifted a unique liqueur made from apricot kernels and herbs to the painter Bernardino Luini. Today, the brand infuses the spirit of that story into its consistent modern form, combining apricot-kernel flavour, burnt sugar, 17 selected herbs and fruits into its distinct profile.
Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Rich almond and marzipan, light caramel and soft vanilla tones, a hint of cherry-kernel depth.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Smooth texture; upfront almond-marzipan sweetness, followed by subtle caramel-vanilla layers, with a light bitter-nut finish.
Tertiary
Finish: Medium length; such almond essence lingers, gentle sweetness fades into a clean nutty after-taste, inviting the next sip.
GastronomyServe neat on ice or as part of classic drinks like the Amaretto Sour or an Italian Margarita. Its almond-and-caramel profile pairs beautifully with rich desserts (tiramisu, almond biscotti), dark chocolate treats, or a shot alongside espresso for an elegant finish.
