Tasting CharacteristicsArran “Remnant Renegade” 46% celebrates the art of blending — a limited edition born from a selection of the distillery’s finest “remnant” casks. Each barrel contributes character: bourbon brings vanilla and honey, sherry adds dried fruit richness, and wine casks lend warmth and color. The result is a whisky both expressive and poised — layers of fruit, oak, and spice united in seamless balance. A creative expression of Arran’s maturing identity — confident, modern, and beautifully complete.
Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Inviting aromas of honeyed malt, baked apple, and apricot with hints of vanilla, cinnamon, and toasted oak. Subtle notes of red berries and almond pastry emerge over time.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Smooth and layered — flavors of orchard fruit, honey, and dried apricot merge with soft spice, vanilla cream, and oak sweetness. Texturally rich yet balanced, showing the influence of multiple cask types.
Tertiary
Finish: Long and harmonious, with warm notes of fruit compote, nutmeg, and lingering caramelized malt.
GastronomyExcellent alongside duck confit, aged cheddar, or caramelized desserts. Its fruity depth pairs wonderfully with roasted nuts, fig tart, or dark chocolate with sea salt. Serve neat or with a few drops of water at 18–20 °C to reveal full complexity. Ideal for evenings that invite conversation and quiet appreciation.
