Tasting CharacteristicsArran “Bonfire” 50% captures the spirit of a windswept island evening — warmth, smoke, and the glow of flame against salt air. Finished in charred oak casks, it fuses Arran’s natural honeyed malt with a layer of smoldering depth. The result is a whisky both bright and brooding — sweet citrus and spice meeting the comforting crackle of woodfire. A bold yet elegant limited edition that reveals a new side of Arran’s coastal soul.
Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Rich and expressive — layers of burnt sugar, orange peel, and toffee mingle with smoldering oak, roasted nuts, and a touch of maritime smoke.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Velvety and complex — waves of caramelized malt, dark honey, and dried fruit unfold over smoky oak and gentle spice. A subtle char and warmth give balance and structure.
Tertiary
Finish: Long, glowing, and lingering, with notes of vanilla, ash, and sweet citrus embers that fade into a soft, smoky sweetness.
GastronomyBest paired with grilled meats, dark chocolate, or aged cheeses. Try it with smoked brisket, roasted almonds, or orange-glazed duck, where the whisky’s smoky-sweet balance shines. It also complements desserts with caramel, honey, or burnt sugar notes. Enjoy neat or with a few drops of water at 18–20 °C — perfect for late-night firesides or slow, reflective moments.
