Tasting CharacteristicsChâteau Julia 2023 Agiorgitiko shows the warm-climate charm of Greek viticulture: a varietal expression built on pure fruit rather than oak intervention. The wine delivers upfront red berry and cherry fruit, with hints of plum, soft herbaceous tones and Mediterranean earthiness. Light-to-medium body and moderate alcohol make it a versatile, everyday-style wine — perfect for those who appreciate approachable reds with character and freshness at a fair value.
Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma / Nose: Red cherries, ripe strawberry, fresh raspberry, a lick of dried red plum, soft Mediterranean herbs (oregano / thyme-like), and a dusty hint of warm earth.
Secondary
Palate / Taste: Medium body with juicy red-berry and stone-fruit core — cherry, red plum, raspberry — combined with a gentle herbal-earthy undertone. Tannins are soft and round, acidity moderate-to-fresh, offering easy drinkability and a smooth texture.
Tertiary
Finish: Medium-length finish, drying gently with soft berry skin bitterness, a trace of dried herbs and a clean, earthy-mineral aftertaste.
GastronomyServe slightly chilled or at cellar temperature (~16–17 C). Château Julia Agiorgitiko 2023 is ideal for casual meals and Mediterranean dishes: grilled lamb chops, moussaka, herb-roasted chicken, grilled sausages, dishes with tomato-based sauces, mezze with olives and feta, vegetable stews, or simple pizza with goat cheese and herbs. Its fresh fruit and herbal-earthy character also pair well with feta, grilled vegetables, and dishes with olive oil, garlic and oregano.
