Tasting CharacteristicsLirica 2023 reflects the power and charm of Manduria’s sun-drenched vineyards. Old vines, low yields and hot southern winds deliver concentrated fruit and plush texture. Partial ageing in large oak casks adds polish without overshadowing Primitivo’s natural sweetness of fruit. The 2023 vintage is marked by richness, soft tannins and expressive Mediterranean aromas — a bold yet approachable red that embodies Puglia’s signature style.
Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Ripe blackberry, plum, black cherry, sweet spice, vanilla, licorice, cocoa, dried fig and warm Mediterranean herbs.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Full-bodied, smooth and enveloping. Flavours of black plum, cherry jam, dried berries, chocolate, cinnamon, soft pepper and subtle oak. Tannins are round and velvety; acidity is moderate, contributing to a rich and generous mouthfeel.
Tertiary
Finish: Medium-long, warm and fruit-driven, with lingering plum, spice and a hint of cocoa sweetness.
GastronomyServe at 16–18°C. A perfect companion for grilled meats, lamb chops, sausages, lasagna, pizza with cured meats, rich ragù, roasted vegetables and hard, aged cheeses. Its ripe fruit and warm spice beautifully complement hearty, savory and slightly sweet-umami dishes.
