Tasting CharacteristicsSunlight captured in liquid form, this Chardonnay invites you to linger in golden warmth with every sip.
Born from the iconic Carneros region of California, The Prisoner Chardonnay 2021 is a small-batch expression of craftsmanship, blending the richness of Chardonnay with subtle notes of Viognier and Gewürztraminer. Gently fermented and aged in carefully selected oak barrels, it balances opulence with restraint, revealing a wine that is both bold and elegantly approachable – a true testament to artisanal winemaking.
Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Opens with luminous aromas of baked apple, ripe peach, and golden pineapple, intertwined with whispers of vanilla and toasted coconut, evoking sun-drenched orchards.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: On the palate, luscious stone fruits and hints of crème brûlée mingle with a soft, creamy texture, offering a medium-to-full-bodied richness that feels indulgent yet graceful.
Tertiary
Finish: The finish is lingering and harmonious, with traces of marzipan and delicate oak that fade into a bright, refreshing clarity.
GastronomyServe at 10–12°C to highlight texture while preserving freshness. This Chardonnay pairs best with richer dishes such as roasted chicken, turkey, pork, creamy pasta, lobster, scallops, and dishes finished with butter or cream sauces. Its weight and oak profile also complement soft to semi-aged cheeses, making it well suited for evening dining and more indulgent meals.
