Tasting CharacteristicsA whisper of Sonoma Coast’s fog-kissed vineyards captured in a bottle, inviting you to savor a Pinot Noir that feels like twilight in a glass. Hailing from the rugged, mist-laden coastlines of Sonoma, The Prisoner Pinot Noir 2021 is a masterful expression of small-batch artistry, nurtured in carefully tended vineyards before gentle fermentation and thoughtful oak aging. Each sip reflects the winemaker’s pursuit of balance—where elegance meets intensity, and heritage vines yield a wine of character and complexity.
Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Ripe cherry, raspberry, and strawberry, layered with notes of vanilla, baking spice, light toast, and a subtle floral accent.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Medium-plus bodied and silky, with juicy red fruit, soft tannins, and well-integrated oak. The mouthfeel is smooth and rounded, supported by balanced acidity that keeps the wine fresh despite its ripeness.
Tertiary
Finish: Long and supple, with lingering red fruit, gentle spice, and a clean, polished close.
GastronomyServe at 14–16°C to highlight fruit clarity and texture. A short decant can help the wine open aromatically. This Pinot Noir pairs well with roasted chicken, duck, pork, and dishes with mild spice or caramelization. Its smooth tannins also complement mushroom-based cuisine and soft to semi-aged cheeses, making it versatile for both casual and refined meals.
