Tasting CharacteristicsLes Mains 2022 is one of the more serious cuvées from Domaine de L’R, drawing on older vines and parcels with deeper soils to create a wine of verticality and finesse. Frédéric Sigonneau’s organic farming and low-intervention approach preserve the clarity of Cabernet Franc while allowing natural concentration from the vintage. Gentle extraction and ageing in concrete or neutral barrels bring precision, purity and a seamless texture. The 2022 vintage delivers layered fruit, floral lift and long, mineral-driven structure.
Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Black cherry, raspberry, plum skin, violets, graphite, crushed herbs and subtle spice.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Medium-bodied, elegant and textural. Juicy red and black fruit mingle with floral notes and a firm mineral backbone. Tannins are fine and polished, acidity balanced and energetic.
Tertiary
Finish: Long, refined and mineral — dark berries, cherry skin and delicate aromatic herbs lingering with sophistication.
GastronomyServe at 15–16 С. Les Mains 2022 pairs beautifully with refined, savory dishes: roast duck, lamb chops, grilled pork tenderloin, beef carpaccio, mushroom and truffle dishes, charcuterie, lentil stew or semi-hard cheeses. Its combination of structure and purity makes it equally suited for modern bistro cuisine and more elevated pairings.
