Tasting CharacteristicsA vivid expression of Spain’s high-altitude Rueda region, Bardos Verdejo 2023 captures the pure essence of the grape — bright citrus, fennel, and wild herbs carried by brisk minerality. The palate balances freshness and texture, unfolding from lemon zest and white peach to a refined saline finish. A wine that feels both sunlit and cool — energetic, elegant, and beautifully linear.
Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose:: Bright and aromatic, with lively notes of lime zest, green apple, and white peach layered with fennel, citrus blossom, and a hint of fresh herbs.
Secondary
Palate/Taste:: Zesty and precise — flavors of grapefruit, pear, and lemon peel glide over a crisp mineral backbone. The lees aging adds a gentle creaminess and texture beneath the bright acidity.
Tertiary
Finish: Clean, citrusy, and lingering, leaving a touch of sea salt and crushed stone freshness on the palate.
GastronomyIdeal with seafood and Mediterranean fare — think grilled prawns, ceviche, or octopus salad. Its crisp acidity complements goat cheese and green salads, while its herbal edge pairs perfectly with sushi or citrus-marinated chicken. For a refined pairing, serve with sea bass in lemon butter or vegetable risotto. Serve chilled at 8–10 °C to preserve its freshness and aromatic lift.
