Tasting CharacteristicsThe 2023 Riesling from Domaine G.Metz reflects the estate’s precision-driven style: fermented and aged in stainless steel to preserve absolute clarity of fruit and terroir. This wine captures Alsace’s hallmark combination of vibrant acidity, citrus-driven aromatics, and a clean mineral backbone. It is dry, refreshing, and crafted for both everyday drinking and elegant food pairing.
Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Lime zest, lemon peel, green apple, white peach, white flowers and a chalky, stony undertone.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Light to medium-bodied with striking freshness. Citrus (lime, lemon), crunchy green apple, subtle peach and a linear mineral profile. Acidity is vibrant and precise, giving the wine its signature lift.
Tertiary
Finish: Long, pure and saline, with lingering citrus and mineral notes.
GastronomyServe chilled (8–10 C). This dry Riesling is ideal with oysters, mussels, sushi, ceviche, steamed fish, lightly spiced Asian dishes, chicken with citrus or herbs, goat cheese, and vegetable-based cuisine. Its acidity and mineral cut make it a versatile companion for both delicate and aromatic dishes.
