Tasting Characteristics

Sella & Mosca Ambat Vermentino di Sardegna DOC 2022 is a clean, modern expression of one of the island’s flagship varieties. Grown in a warm Mediterranean climate tempered by maritime influence, the wine balances ripe fruit with vibrant acidity and a distinct saline edge. Stainless-steel vinification preserves purity and aromatic clarity, allowing Vermentino’s citrus, herbal, and mineral traits to remain precise and food-friendly. This is a straightforward but well-executed Sardinian white built for freshness and everyday drinking.

Aromas and flavours:

Primary

Aroma/Nose: Aromas of lemon zest, grapefruit, and green apple, supported by notes of white flowers, Mediterranean herbs, and a subtle sea-breeze minerality.

Secondary

Palate/Taste: Medium-bodied and crisp, showing citrus and stone fruit flavors with a gentle herbal bitterness typical of Vermentino. Acidity is lively but balanced, giving the wine energy and structure without sharpness.

Tertiary

Finish: Clean and refreshing, with lingering citrus, light salinity, and a dry, mineral close.

Gastronomy

Serve well chilled at 8–10°C to highlight freshness and coastal character. This Vermentino pairs naturally with seafood, grilled fish, shellfish, and Mediterranean dishes featuring olive oil, herbs, and citrus. Its saline edge and crisp acidity also make it an excellent aperitif and a strong match for light vegetable dishes and fresh cheeses.
