Tasting CharacteristicsKlaus Meyer Gewürztraminer Spätlese 2023 is an enchanting expression of Pfalz aromatics — opulent yet finely balanced. Its exotic perfume of lychee, rose, and spice unfolds into a velvety, gently sweet palate. The freshness of the vintage lends energy to its sweetness, creating a wine that is indulgent, fragrant, and gracefully poised.
Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Expressive and seductive with lychee, rose petal, honeysuckle, and ripe mango. Hints of clove and ginger lend exotic spice to its fragrant bouquet.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Lush and silky, bursting with tropical fruit and floral notes. Flavors of lychee, peach, and sweet citrus are balanced by a gentle acidity that keeps the palate fresh and lifted.
Tertiary
Finish: Long, aromatic, and honeyed, with delicate notes of rosewater, spice, and candied orange peel.
GastronomyIdeal with spicy Asian cuisine, where its sweetness and aromatics complement chili heat — think Thai green curry, Indian butter chicken, or Sichuan dishes. It also pairs beautifully with blue cheese, pâté, or fruit tarts. Serve chilled at 8–10 °C to enhance its floral intensity and freshness.
