Tasting Characteristics“VIO” comes from older Barbera vines grown on limestone-rich soils in Monferrato, giving the wine greater depth and precision than Umberta. Spontaneously fermented and aged in large neutral casks, it remains pure and minimally manipulated, yet gains roundness, complexity and length. The 2022 vintage delivers generous fruit with bright acidity, silky tannins and a savory-mineral undertone that marks Fabrizio Iuli’s signature style.
Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Red and black cherry, plum skin, raspberry, dried rose, wild herbs, light balsamic hints, earth, and subtle spice from long ageing in large casks.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Medium to medium+ body with beautiful balance. Juicy red fruit, cherry, black plum, raspberry, gentle spice, herbal notes and a fine mineral line. Tannins are silky; acidity is vivid and mouthwatering, giving lift to the wine’s deeper core.
Tertiary
Finish: Medium-long, elegant and clean, with lingering cherry, herbs and a delicate savory-mineral echo.
GastronomyServe at 16–18°C. Perfect with roasted pork loin, grilled chicken, beef carpaccio, mushroom risotto, charcuterie, baked vegetables, Parmigiano Reggiano, pecorino and tomato-driven pasta dishes. Its natural freshness and fine structure make it a superb pairing for modern Italian cooking.
