Tasting CharacteristicsContadi Castaldi Franciacorta Brut delivers a crisp, modern expression of Italy`s most prestigious sparkling-wine region – vibrant, polished, and effortlessly elegant.
Crafted in Franciacorta DOCG – Italy`s benchmark for traditional-method sparkling wines, this cuvée blends Chardonnay with selections of Pinot Noir and Pinot Bianco. The grapes are gently pressed parcel by parcel, fermented separately, and aged long on the lees to build finesse, depth, and fine perlage. The estate`s philosophy emphasizes contemporary style rooted in terroir: freshness, precision, and clean mineral tension set against subtle autolytic complexity.
Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Crisp citrus (lemon zest, tangerine), white peach, green apple, and subtle florals. Hints of bread crust, almond, and delicate mineral tones unfold with air.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Lively acidity and fine, creamy bubbles support a balanced palate of citrus, orchard fruit, and a gentle saline edge. Texturally refined, with a smooth, elegant progression.
Tertiary
Finish: Long, clean, and mineral, with flashes of citrus peel and light brioche.
GastronomyServe at 7-9 C in a tulip-shaped glass that allows the mousse and citrus-mineral aromas to develop. Its bright acidity, refined bubbles, and subtle autolytic notes make it ideal as an aperitif and equally suitable throughout a light meal. The wine’s tension and mineral drive pair beautifully with seafood – especially raw or delicately cooked fish, while its gentle creaminess complements vegetable dishes with subtle sweetness or herbal accents. Its structure is elegant rather than weighty, making it a versatile bottle for fresh, contemporary cuisine.
