Tasting CharacteristicsReverdy & Fils Pouilly-Fumé 2023 is a textbook expression of Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc, shaped by limestone and flint-rich soils that define the appellation’s signature style. Stainless-steel vinification preserves purity and freshness, allowing terroir-driven minerality to take center stage. The 2023 vintage emphasizes clarity, tension, and balance, offering a wine that is clean, focused, and firmly gastronomic rather than overtly aromatic.
Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Fresh citrus notes of lemon and grapefruit, supported by green apple, white flowers, and a subtle flinty, smoky nuance typical of Pouilly-Fumé.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Dry and precise on the palate, with crisp citrus fruit, gentle herbal tones, and a distinct mineral backbone. Acidity is bright but controlled, giving the wine energy and linear structure without sharpness.
Tertiary
Finish: Clean and refreshing, with lingering citrus, saline minerality, and a faint smoky edge that defines the style.
GastronomyServe well chilled at 8–10°C to highlight freshness and mineral precision. This Pouilly-Fumé pairs naturally with seafood, oysters, grilled or poached fish, and dishes featuring herbs or citrus. Its acidity and flinty character also make it an excellent match for goat cheese and light, vegetable-driven cuisine, where freshness and balance matter most.
