Tasting CharacteristicsTramin Nussbaumer Gewürztraminer Alto Adige DOC 2022 is one of the most recognized expressions of the variety in Italy. Sourced from hillside vineyards around Tramin, the wine benefits from strong alpine–Mediterranean contrast, producing grapes of high aromatic concentration balanced by natural freshness. Careful vinification preserves purity while lees contact adds texture and depth. Despite its opulence, the wine remains precise and structured, avoiding excess sweetness or heaviness. This is Gewürztraminer at full voice, yet firmly controlled.
Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Explosive aromas of rose petals, lychee, ripe peach, orange blossom, and exotic spice, layered with hints of ginger and clove.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Full-bodied and richly textured, showing ripe stone fruit, tropical notes, and pronounced spice. The palate is broad and enveloping, yet supported by enough acidity to maintain balance and clarity.
Tertiary
Finish: Long, intense, and aromatic, with lingering floral notes, spice, and a dry, warming close.
GastronomyServe at 10–12°C to balance aromatic intensity with freshness. Nussbaumer pairs exceptionally well with Asian cuisine, mildly spicy dishes, aromatic herbs, foie gras, and rich seafood preparations. Its structure and spice profile also complement washed-rind and soft cheeses. This is a wine for expressive food and confident pairings, best enjoyed slowly.
