Tasting CharacteristicsA crisp whisper of sunlit vineyards, this Chenin Blanc awakens the senses with its lively, vibrant charm.
Hailing from California`s carefully tended vineyards, Saldo Chenin Blanc 2023 is a small-batch expression of artistry, combining predominantly Chenin Blanc grapes with subtle notes of Muscat and Verdelho. Fermented with precision and nurtured to preserve its natural brightness, it celebrates both the varietal`s heritage and the winemaker`s dedication to balance, producing a wine that is refreshing, expressive, and effortlessly elegant.
Aromas and flavours:
Primary
Aroma/Nose: Ripe pear, yellow apple, and baked quince lead, followed by notes of honey, citrus peel, and subtle vanilla.
Secondary
Palate/Taste: Medium-plus bodied with a rounded, slightly creamy texture. Orchard fruit and stone fruit dominate, supported by gentle sweetness, restrained oak spice, and lively acidity that keeps the wine composed rather than heavy.
Tertiary
Finish: Smooth and persistent, with lingering fruit, light honeyed tones, and a clean, fresh lift at the end.
GastronomyServe at 10–12°C to highlight both freshness and texture. This Chenin Blanc works well with roasted poultry, pork dishes, mildly spiced cuisine, and richer vegetarian plates. Its combination of fruit weight and acidity also makes it a strong match for dishes with subtle sweetness or caramelization, as well as semi-aged cheeses.
